The Leverings Birthday at the Blackburns, about 2011

Xiahe, China, 2010-2012

"Enlightenment" - the triangle just above the head of the monk who is walking by is the visual metaphor for " enlightenment"!

Following the monk - he has a side-step.

This monk is a sturdy presence!
Monks cast off their shoes before entering the temple. At this altitude, it must make for some cold feet!
The altitude at Xiahe is a little over 7,000 feet.
Overview of Xiahe
Here are the "Abbots" - they appeared one day and generated much discussion amongst we novices!
This monk became my favorite! He guided me around.
Here is a portion of the temples - stacked up against the mountains.
A very young lad!

Some 3D Images from Early Exhibitions, about 2004

Here's a 3D in the Fisherman's Garden.
The Forbidden Palace in Beijing!
At the Ciyuin Buddhist Temple in Hangzhou.
Looking downward from the tallest building in Shanghai.
Along a street in a small village south of Shanghai.
A fisherman along the Coast outside of Hangzhou.

These were formatted into 29 inches by 60 inches for an exhibition at Cal Poly Pomona in 2003 or 2004.

Here the "Big Buddha" from Lantau, Hong Kong!

We have a sunset picture of Guilin!
Now the river rushes forth...
Here a raft of boaters!

My favorite picture of a diving cormorant!
This is a cormorant.
He is diving.

Planes of Fame, in Chino

My cousin, Sammy, came to visit me a few years ago. We had a great time at Planes of Fame in Chino.
There were jets, jet fighters, and bombers...

So many iterations of plane engines were developed "on the fly" during WWII.  It's staggering to think of the speed at which this was done.

As you can see from the "logo" on this plane, baseball team names weren't the only things that reflected cultural attitudes of the time...

This a 3-dimensional image. Get your 3D glasses ready!

Here is a bomber!
This 4-engine plane model is one of many small replicas at Planes of Fame. Some are the only representations left of aircraft that were scrapped after the war.  The metal was needed for other purposes.
Experimental  jet.

ODA near Siem Reip: 2013

This was an amazing orphanage!  Just incredible people here!
I loved what this person had to say, and her sense of purpose and energy.
Her presence made a marvelous contribution to the atmosphere here.
This affable young man was interested in everything going on around him.
Examining a flower blossom.
All the residents here were incredible - there was a real sense of community here.
Pumping water - Yes, a that's a pump!
Everyone contributed to the communal, cooperative atmosphere here.
Playing a game.  Note the impish grin!
